How to install a game with cache on Android. Installing a cache for an Android game

Our article today is about installing game cache on Android. We will tell you in detail about how and where to install the game cache for Android. You will learn what cache is in games, and in general, why it is needed.

What is cache for Android?

The industry of mobile applications and games does not stand still. Millions of developers create millions of games. Games are getting better, more powerful and harder, and the graphics are becoming more realistic. In this regard, the requirements for installing such games are increasing. So, recently, a lot of games require downloading and installing a cache.

A cache is a set of certain files (music, pictures, graphics, etc.) necessary for the full functioning of the game. Such files are recorded and stored in a specific system folder. Their size can vary, mostly from 50MB to 1.5GB, and depends on the game installed.

Without a cache, the game may not start and will request the files it needs. So, after installing games, many require downloading additional files before launching. Thus, the game requires installing a cache.

How to download and install games with cache?

Let's take a closer look at the process of installing cache files on Android. There are several ways through which the cache gets to your android:

  • The cache is downloaded in one file, along with the game;
  • the cache is installed automatically after installing the game (requires an Internet connection);
  • The cache is downloaded as a separate file.

So, when downloading a game from a gaming site, you should be informed that the cache is downloaded separately. Otherwise, the cache must be preinstalled.

Where should I put the cache folder?

The cache is downloaded as an archived file; you can unpack it using the built-in archiver or special programs such as ES File Explorer for Android. You can also unpack the cache on your PC using WinRar. Place the unpacked file in the folder of your Android device: /sdcard/Android/obb/"your folder". When updating the game version, you will have to manually download the updated cache.

It is important to note that when installing a cache through the application, the folder is created on /sdcard/Android/data/… And /sdcard/gameloft/games/…. And when updating, you do not need to update the cache - this is done automatically.

General comment! In most cases, an SDCard is built-in memory. Do not confuse with microSD

Problems installing cache

If you have installed the cache and the game still does not start, you should check the following:

  1. In the Google Play description and tags, you can find out which devices support this game and which do not.
  2. Make sure that the cache is located on internal memory, and not on external memory.
  3. Unpacking a folder from an archive should be done into the current folder, and not into the archive folder (for WinRar).
  4. If the game does not see the cache, then launch it and see where it creates the folder. Throw your cache there too.
  5. If you installed the cache, but the game asks you to download more MB, then you installed it incorrectly.
  6. If the cache size is larger than the internal memory, then activate the “Install applications on an external SD card” option in the phone settings. After activating it, reinstall the game.

Installing a game with a cache or an application on Android is quite easy, you just need to know the basic principles that we will describe to you in the article.

You may not even have to flash or patch your Android phone or tablet. To make it easier for you to understand, we will show a clear example of installing the Stay Alight game with pictures to make it easier to understand where to place the cache. We will also provide brief instructions: “How to install a game with cache on Android”

1 . Instructions: “How to install the game and program with cache on Android.”

The main thing to start with before installing the cache: Go to the folder on the gadget"Settings" , go to"Personal" , click on"Safety"

, then in the “Device Administration” category we put a plus sign next to “Unknown source”. This stage is very important.

2 . It is worth noting that some phone manufacturers may change the location and name of functions at their own request. In this case, you will have to look for a parameter similar to “Unknown sources” in the settings and put a plus sign next to it.

Download the necessary files:

Application installation files, also called "cache files" and "apk files", are an addition to some applications. We’ll tell you how to install them a little later; first, we need to select them correctly for our device.

Some games with cache have strict requirements for device parameters.

- The processor model is ARM7 or ARM6, which means what type of processor is suitable for this “apk” file. Some applications require ROOT rights.

To find out more about how to get them, go to.

3 . Games with good graphics require a phone or tablet to have a large screen and also support HD.

If you downloaded the file directly to the gadget, then proceed to the next step. For those who downloaded the application to a PC, you need to transfer the file to your phone using a USB cable, to any folder.

Unpack the file using well-known programs. For PC it is WinRAR, for Android it is ES File Explorer.

Place the unpacked folder in the current path. In the example we use the ES Explorer file manager. Press and hold the “More” button, in the window that appears, click “Extract to”, select “Current path”. When you specify this path, the file will be unzipped in the same place where you placed the archive.

In the folder where you initially placed the archive, usually the Downloads folder, an unpacked cache folder is automatically created. Copy it to the clipboard, a “curtain” button should appear on the left side of the screen, it means that there are files on the clipboard.

After we have copied the source file, we return to the root of our SD card, open the “Android” folder, then the “obb” folder

We have placed all the cache files in the right place, let’s move on to installing the “apk”.

Installing apk on Android:

Launch the file manager. If it is not there, you need to install, for example, “Trashbox.ru”. Samsung has it as a standard application called “My Files”.

We look for the downloaded file and click on it. After starting the installation, follow the instructions of the installer.

If you did everything correctly, the game should appear in the list of applications after installation is complete.

There are often situations when the game cannot be launched. In such cases, double-check that you have specified the path correctly. If after checking you still cannot turn on the game, or it asks you to download some more files, download them using your mobile Internet or Wi-Fi. In some cases, when starting a game, verification is required. During this process, unique files are downloaded to Android to replace the old ones, without them you will not be able to launch the game.

When you uninstall a game, remember that “kech” is not always removed along with the application. In this case, you need to manually clear all files. To do this, find the folder where you installed the game, select all the contents and completely delete it. This way you don’t clutter your Android with broken files. Accordingly, it will work much faster and heat up less.

There are two types - these are simple games that do not need a cache (which are installed by simply clicking on the game icon) and games with a cache (which needs to be additionally installed). Game cache is an archive of various files (sounds, pictures, scripts) that are needed for the Android game to be fully functional. Let's look at installing a game with a cache on Android using the game as an example.

To install games, I use an excellent free file manager, which must first be installed from the market.

And so we installed X-plore, now we download the desired game and the cache for it, and we will install it. If you download from a smartphone or tablet, then you will find all downloaded files along the path sdcard/Downloads/, that is, in the folder Downloads in the device memory. Everyone has downloaded the game launch X-plore and look for the folder Downloads, open it and see 2 files there (the game itself.apk, and a zip archive with a cache for the game.)

First of all, we will install the cache; it needs to be placed in the correct path. In the description of the game you will find the path where you need to place our cache, in our case it is - /sdcard/Android/obb/ ATTENTION!!! An sdcard is the device's internal memory, not a memory card.

Our file manager is convenient because it has two panels, thanks to this we can easily find the desired path, in the right panel we find the folder Android, open it and see two folders there: data And obb(if the required folder does not exist, then simply create it manually). We need a folder obb, so we select it. As a result, we should have our game and cache in the left panel, and a selected folder in the right obb:

The screenshot shows how it should look, yours should be the same. Now we go to the left panel and click on the archive with the cache, it will open and we will get the folder with the desired cache. Now select the desired folder; to do this, click on the checkbox next to the folder so that it turns red:

Now click on the copy button:

After pressing the button Copy we will see a window in which we need to confirm the copying process, in the same window we will make sure that the path is correct. Check the path and click OK:

We have begun the process of transferring the cache from the archive to the folder we need obb:

We have placed all the cache, now let’s install the game itself, to do this, just click on the game icon and install it:

That's all, we installed the game, now close X-plore and go to the menu of your device and there we look for our installed game, launch and play).

If you download games via a computer, then after downloading the game and cache you need to upload it to your Android device. To do this, connect your device to your computer via a USB cable, go into your phone’s memory and copy the downloaded files to the same folder Downloads. Disconnect from your computer, launch X-plore and follow the steps described above!
