Best Wireless In-Ear Headphones with Mic

Apple AirPods: the best option for iPhone owners

The AirPods wireless headphones released by Apple immediately became a hit. People liked the sensor used here, which allows iOS to pause music playback when you remove the earbud from your ear. Also, everyone is satisfied with the working hours.

Yes, the headset only sounds continuously for five hours. But along with the headphones you will carry a small case that acts as a portable battery. And with it, the playing time increases to at least a day. The whole thing is charged from the Lightning cable that comes in the kit.

Wireless headphones are a favorite accessory of many PC users and music lovers. They allow you to listen to music and stay connected without being distracted by extraneous noise or disturbing others, and also provide freedom of movement.

Criterias of choice

Before buying Bluetooth headphones, you should decide on the following criteria:

  • Overlays or inserts. Earbuds are compact in size and inexpensive; they are preferred for voice communication and listening to audio recordings on the road or during training. Overhead headphones are usually chosen for listening to music at home.
  • Microphone. The price for a wireless Bluetooth headset is usually higher than for a device without a microphone. Therefore, buying a model with a microphone is justified if you often communicate on Skype or in games.
  • Functionality. The cost of wireless Bluetooth headphones largely depends on the functions they provide. Therefore, choose a model with the features that you need. This could be noise-canceling technology that transmits only the sound of the voice, excluding background noise. Or the Multipoint function, which allows you to configure the headset on two devices at once.

Assortment of the online store "Yulmart"

Are you interested in selling wireless headsets in Moscow? Cybermarket "Yulmart" offers you to buy Bluetooth headphones from well-known manufacturers. Our catalog presents functional models for solving various problems: functional and budget devices with high sound characteristics. We guarantee favorable prices. We deliver orders anywhere in Russia.

The order of these headphones was due to the desire to get rid of a wired headset when talking on Skype and listening to music from a desktop computer. Compact dimensions, the absence of a remote microphone and the small area of the attached elements, which in general should have minimized the feeling of discomfort from the presence of a foreign object on the head, relegated the teenage design of headphones to the background when choosing. Everything else could only be verified experimentally, which is what this review is devoted to.

The quality of the headphone packaging was encouraging:

On the reverse side were the specifications and a brief description of the functions:

In addition to the headphones themselves, the package included only a 1 m long charging cable and instructions:

The charging cable is non-standard. The headphone connector is similar in size to miniUSB, but has a different shape (it is shown in the photo for comparison).

General view of the headphones. Below is a ruler for sizing.

To bring the headphones from the transport position to the working position, they must be rotated 90 degrees relative to the jumper, as shown in the photo.

After this you can adjust the height. The margin here is small, about 2.5 cm on each side; if your head is large, it may not be enough. For example, I was comfortable only at the maximum height.

Speaker close-up:

The size is just right to cover the center of the ear:

There won’t be a complete immersion effect, but I don’t really need it, as I planned to use the headphones in a work environment where communication with reality is desirable.

The power and volume buttons are located on the back of the left earpiece.

The microphone is naturally on the front side. Nearby is the charging port.

The total weight of the headphones is just under 70 g.

Test connection, so to speak, in the native environment - to an Android smartphone.

Everything works without problems here. No password is required to connect.

Interaction with PC.

Connection to a PC was tested on the three most commonly used operating systems at the moment - Windows XP / 7 / 10.

Connection to Windows 10 was made on a Dell laptop with a built-in Bluetooth adapter Broadcom v.3.0+HS

There were no problems here. The headphones were quickly found by the system and paired:

There were also no difficulties with automatic driver installation, as you can see from the list of available audio devices:

Which allowed me to connect Skype without any problems:

With older operating systems, however, it was not without “dancing with a tambourine.” I have Windows XP and 7 installed on desktop PCs, and this Bluetooth adapter was used as a receiver:

The problem turned out to be that despite the fact that the headphones paired with the PC without problems, the system could not find a driver for them. At the same time, Windows 7 at least honestly tried to at least do this, unlike XP, which considered after pairing that the necessary operations to connect the device were completed. Suggested solution for Windows 7 driver problem by installing Windows Mobile Device Center didn’t work, but a more beautiful solution was found that was suitable for both Windows 7 and XP. This solution turned out to be the program Bluesoleil(), which replaces the standard bluetooth adapter driver with its own and accordingly installs its own drivers for connected devices.

This is how the headphones were paired:

And this is what the connection looks like through the visual interface of the program:

Conclusions:

The task set to implement Bluetooth connections to a PC on Windows XP / 7 / 10 on these headphones was solved, so in this sense I am satisfied. As for the headphones themselves, I was left with a mixed impression. So the sound quality seemed normal to my unpretentious ears, but on the other hand, the limited height adjustment and the general flimsiness of the design were somewhat confusing.
