Browser is not connected to the Internet. What to do if the Yandex browser does not open web pages? Plugins that change browser connection settings

Today I want to talk to you about one of the reasons that may deprive you of Internet access. Of course, there are a lot of them, but recently this one appears very often among many users. Therefore, if nothing works out for you, try following my recommendations.

So, imagine a situation when, on some ordinary day, which had no signs of trouble, your usual work fails, namely, your browsers do not work. That is, they open, but when you enter the address of a particular Internet resource into them, they give an error and say that the page cannot be displayed. I think everyone knows what browsers there are. Personally, I prefer Google Chrome or, at worst, Mazila Firefox. Internet Explorer, of course, is also used, but this is already a mockery of oneself. After all, it has been proven more than once that he is the slowest of all.

We continue to understand why browsers do not work. When this happened to me, I had to spend a lot of time before I found out the real reason for the malfunction. From another computer, I “scoured” a huge number of forums and sites that contained any information about this kind. During this time, I became convinced that there are many reasons why browsers do not work and that finding a suitable solution to my problem is not so easy. that's simple.

To be objective, the first thing you need to do is scan your computer for the presence of “enemy” software. Often various viruses and Trojans disable access. If you have done this, and not with one program, but with several, but your browsers still do not work, then let’s move on to the reason that I want to tell you about. I’ll say right away that for the lucky owners of the Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft.

As you know, the advantage of this platform is that it can independently search for all updates, download and install them. But it is precisely this advantage that sometimes leads to a situation where browsers do not work. So, if your “Seven” found, downloaded and installed one unsuccessful update, this may be the main cause of all your troubles related to the operation of browsers. You must find it and remove it.

It's called "Platform Update for Windows 7". Designated KV 2670838. Published on February twenty-seventh, two thousand and thirteen. When you remove it, all your browsers will miraculously work again. Therefore, if you unknowingly updated your “Seven” and installed this application, after which your browsers refused to work, your task is to eliminate it from your system.

If you have not yet downloaded or installed this update, then find it in the appropriate window and refuse installation or simply hide it. Of course, it may also be that installing this update on your computer or laptop will not lead to any negative consequences. But still, this reason must be excluded. If after these steps your browsers are still not working, look elsewhere.

The essence of the problem described in this article is this: the Google Chrome and Opera browsers do not work. And strangely they don’t work. Browsers start but tabs and settings do not open, and other functions do not work. In general, browsers freeze. At the same time, Internet Explorer works fine. This is the problem I encountered today. Checking for viruses with Eset Smart Security antivirus and Dr.Web Cureit and AVZ antivirus programs did not yield anything.

The problem lay in the program AMD Catalyst Control Center(Surprised? But that's how it is). This problem occurs specifically on laptops with two graphics adapters. Who would have guessed that AMD Catalyst affects the operation of Chrome and Opera and prevents them from working normally. The fact is that when Catalyst controls the launch of applications and launches, for example, Chrome in Energy Saving mode, it does not work but freezes.

Launch the Catalyst program from the system tray

Next in the program, find the “Power” section and click on the “Switchable Graphics Adapters” tab. Perhaps you may have a different version of Catalyst installed and the program interface may look different. So look for the Nutrition Section.

In this window we see that the Opera application is in “High Performance” mode, which is why browsers do not work. By the way, I don’t have Google Chrome here, that’s because I deleted it. Other programs may also be present here. In general, click on the button as shown in the picture below

The application must switch to a different mode. Click apply.

That's basically it. Launch the browser and enjoy its normal operation.

This is one of the solutions when all browsers do not work. There are many other reasons. So this article is not a complete solution to the problem of Chroma and Opera not working.

Changing DNS

Often, this is what helps solve the problem. You need to register DNS from Google, and for this:

  1. You need to go to network connections. The easiest way to do this is by pressing a key combination such as Win+R and entering into the console "Run" ncpa.cpl command. Then you should press Enter.
  2. A window will open where, using the right mouse button, you need to open the properties of the Internet connection that will allow you to access the Internet.
  3. In the console that opens, you need to select "IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and open its properties.
  4. Now you should register DNS, as in the screenshot.
  5. Now restart your PC and the problem should go away.

    DNS cache

    It happens that you need to clear the cache to do this:

    Error in hosts file

    Sometimes, due to incorrect settings of this file, similar problems can occur. This is, of course, unlikely, but it happens and is worth checking. To do this, open this file, which can be found at the following address System32\drivers\etc, you need to open hosts with notepad. It should look like the screenshot, if something is wrong, correct it.

    The DNS client is not working correctly

    Why doesn't the browser load pages? If you have not reinstalled Windows for a long time, then the reason why the Internet is available, but not a single site opens, may be a malfunction of the DNS client. To check this:

    Actions of viruses

    Conclusion

    Now you know what to do in this case. If the above methods do not work, please write about it in the comments.

Programs of this type penetrate the system due to the lack of high-quality anti-virus protection or due to user error. To “treat” the system, you should burn an antivirus program to a USB drive or CD/DVD and run it on the infected computer. It is recommended to run the antivirus program in Windows safe mode. To do this, press F8 when you restart your computer. If the Boot Device selection menu appears, select the hard drive on which the operating system is installed, press Enter and F8 again.

In the list that appears, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select “Safe Mode” and press Enter. The system will boot into safe mode, then connect the media with the antivirus program and run it. When scanning the system, specify all local disks for scanning, because A virus program can copy itself to different folders on the computer. After scanning the system, follow the instructions of the antivirus program regarding further actions with detected malware.

Changed hosts file

Some malware is capable of modifying operating system files. The hosts file is most often subject to change, since it is responsible for the network connection. Using the Internet, determine the contents of a “healthy” host file. To find the hosts file, open the local drive on which the operating system is installed ("C" by default), then follow the following path: Windows-System32-drivers. Open the hosts file using Notepad. Check the information contained in the file, it should correspond to a “healthy” host file. All incorrect lines should be deleted. After that, save the changes and close the file.

Registry check

To check the registry, launch the command line by pressing the Win+R keys or selecting Start-Accessories-Run from the menu. In the window that appears, type regedit and press Enter. In the window that opens, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\
Select the line AppInit_DLLs and press Ctrl+X. Save the changes and close the registry window. Open Notepad and press Ctrl+V. Save the resulting text file and restart your computer. After starting the computer, open the created text file and go to the address specified in it, delete this file.

Evening after a hard day. All day you dreamed of how you would come as a lady, find a good movie on the Internet and sit in a chair with a cup of hot tea... So you come, click on the button of your favorite browser and... you see not at all what you wanted to see. Where is the start page? Where is everyone? Just a little anxiously, you launch another browser (it’s good to have a spare one sometimes), but history repeats itself. There may be a third and a fourth, but they won’t start either! “What’s the matter?!” You shout, “Why don’t browsers work?” Let's figure it out.

Browser doesn't work: reasons

In general, there are not many options.

The first reason why the browser does not work is the Internet, or rather the lack of it. For different reasons. Disconnected for non-payment, an accident occurred somewhere, and not only you have no Internet; or there are simply some problems with the cable connection.

What to do. Check all these factors: look at the cable (you can remove it and plug it back in), check the wiring (what if your cat didn’t get enough attention because of your Internet surfing). Find out your balance or call your closest (by distance) friends with similar Internet, maybe you are not the only one with a problem.

If all of the above does not suit you. The cable is in order, there is money on the Internet, and nothing happened to my friends. Then option two.

Most likely the browser is not working due to malware. Yes, visiting the Internet does not always pass without a trace. All kinds of viruses cause a lot of harm to your computer and inconvenience to you. They can steal passwords, extort money, and even block browsers.

What to do. Urgently install any antivirus if you didn’t have one before or reinstall the old one. Skype or other similar applications can help with this, where you can contact your friends and ask them to download everything you need for you.

Check the system for viruses, remove everything unnecessary. Browsers should start working.

It also happens that the browser (a problem for Opera and Google Chrome) does not work due to the busy history. Clear your cookies and history, this may be the reason it is not working.

Restoring the browser

There is a virus that changes the browser configuration settings, so let’s see how to restore them.

Opera

In Tools we find Settings, where we select Advanced. There we click Network and then - Proxy servers. So, there should not be a single tick in the proxy settings. Uncheck all the boxes if you are not working with a proxy server. After the operation is completed, check the functionality of the browser.

Internet Explorer

In the Tools menu, find Internet properties, and there - Network settings. If you see a checkbox next to “Use proxy servers”, just uncheck it and save the settings.

This must be done with all the browsers you have, if you, of course, plan to use it.

All programs are not perfect and have vulnerabilities or shortcomings; every user is likely to encounter them, even while performing daily tasks. One of the most common and complex malfunctions is the situation when the Yandex browser does not load, since it is not obvious what needs to be done to restore the browser’s functionality. In addition to the inability to launch the browser itself, there are problems with processing and loading web resources. The article is devoted to all of the listed violations.

The most common reasons:

  • Browser files are damaged due to careless user actions or virus infection;
  • The browser is blocked by Windows Firewall or antivirus. If a file is infected with malicious code, the antivirus can independently add the application to the dangerous ones and block its launch;
  • There was a one-time failure in the system;
  • No internet access;
  • Invalid path in shortcut;
  • There are not enough PC resources to process the task;
  • The computer does not meet the minimum browser requirements;
  • There was a problem with the browser files.

All of the above problems can be solved in relatively simple ways.

What to do if Yandex browser does not load?

Let's consider all the ways to restore the operation of a Yandex browser that does not load, starting from the simplest to implement and ending with relatively complex methods. Complex methods mean actions that can cause some discomfort to the user, for example, requiring the deletion of user files.

Eliminate temporary glitches

We recommend starting to combat the problem with the simplest method – restarting the computer. Sometimes, due to prolonged system operation and various failures, Windows is not able to process programs correctly. Interestingly, in half of the cases this action is enough to restore performance.

Another method is to restart the browser. For the procedure to be successful, it is important to completely close the browser and all its processes, since various browser extensions may be running in the background.

How to restart your browser:

Checking the correctness of the shortcut

Obviously, if a file is accessed in the wrong path, no processes will occur. To make sure there are no problems in this area, we recommend creating a new shortcut. This action will also help you get rid of constantly opening new tabs with advertising if this happens on your computer.

How to create a new shortcut:

Make sure you have access to the network

Problems with Internet access may cause the browser to fail to load. Although this is not expected browser behavior, it is not uncommon. The fastest way to check network access is to launch any other web browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.) and try to load the site. It’s better to use a domain that we don’t visit often, otherwise the offline version of the web resource may catch up.

We won’t go into depth, but when setting up a network, it is important to pay attention to the DNS type and check the Wi-Fi router settings. We recommend that you follow the connection procedure according to the provider's instructions.

Updating the browser

If the browser has been installed on your computer for a long time and automatic updates are turned off, this may cause problems. The problem is especially common among users who upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The easiest way to update the browser is after it has been loaded, but you can also do this in the off state:

The note! We can also find the service_update.exe file along the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Yandex\YandexBrowser in the internal directory with a digital name.

Freeing up system resources

If the computer is relatively powerful, there will be no problems freeing up memory. Well, if it’s not very powerful, the simplest way is to open the “Device Manager” (Ctrl + Alt + Del) and remove tasks from applications that we do not use.

Restoring the registry

To understand what a registry is, consider an analogy with a person. The processor is the “mind” and the registry is the “memory”. If the memory of where to go or which file to access at the right moment is impaired, the entire algorithm will be disrupted. The easiest way to restore “memories” is to use the CCleaner application:

Unblocking the program from the antivirus

All antiviruses and firewalls have a settings section where we can set the type of behavior with certain files. We remove the restriction in the most popular one, namely the standard firewall:

In third-party antiviruses, everything is also intuitive. Approximate algorithm of actions:

Reinstalling the browser

The method helps restore the operation of Yandex Browser in most cases, as it updates all program files and installs new, correct entries in the registry.

Important! If you have an old version of Windows installed: XP, Vista, ME, 98, etc., there is no point in installing a new browser. The Yandex browser works stably on Windows from version 7 and lower. In Windows XP we can also use the web browser, but you will have to download the latest suitable version - 17.4 dated March 27, 2017.

How to reinstall:

What can we do if sites do not load in the Yandex browser?

Fixing the problem is usually quite easy. However, you may have to try several or even all of the methods before you can fix the problem.

Are pages not loading or loading slowly in the Yandex browser? - There is a solution:

  • Checking the DNS server. If a public DNS server is installed, physically located on the other side of the world, it is not surprising that the Yandex browser does not load web pages well. How to check the correctness of the set DNS:

Why are files not downloaded in the Yandex browser?

A distinctive feature of the browser is download control. The browser scans all downloaded files using the Protect system and determines whether this or that content is dangerous. Unfortunately, the browser often complains about completely safe files with the extension .exe. If a function interferes with comfortable surfing, it can be disabled.

How to disable the Protect system:

Additional reasons:

  • The default download folder has been removed or renamed. It is enough to change the location of the files to download;
  • Network speed is too slow. We check the presence of proxies and active VPNs;
  • There is not enough space on the logical drive for the file. We free up space and the function will resume.

You can always find a way out of the problem when the Yandex browser does not load files, sites or does not load itself, you just need to have a little patience and follow the instructions provided. Changing your favorite browser in case of failures is only worthwhile in extreme cases, which have never been noted over many years of use.
